Sometimes people will ask us who Aubrey looks like. Whether it is Jake or me, I'm not sure. But, when it comes to who she looks like with her siblings...See if you can guess which picture is Laci and which is Aubrey.

Luke is 4!
Nothing screams crazy like the first day of school for your oldest and your middle child turning 4! Four is fun because he finally gets the birthday thing. Luke is full of energy and keeps us on our toes. He has a big heart and does not know a stranger. We love our Luke-man!
Luke is really getting into baseball and LOVES to watch it with his daddy! Especially "Go Cards"
"Happy Birthday" breakfast
I guess 4 is not too old for a nap. He put himself to bed.

What is it about the first day of Kindergarten?
Everyone told me Laci would be in kindergarten before I knew. Well, before I knew it I was walking Laci into her classroom! It was so true. But, what is it about that first day of kindergarten that triggers your eyes to swell with tears?
I think most moms would agree that at a very young age (maybe even by 6 wks), you think to yourself, “what have I gotten into? How will make it doing this day in and day out without any ’breaks’? If she would just sleep through the night. If she would take two good naps a day--okay, maybe just one. If she would let me put her down. If she would just crawl/walk/talk. If she would just use the potty instead of going in her secret corner. If she would stop throwing that fit. If she would just stop talking for 5 minutes. If she would stop bossing her siblings around. When is kindergarten?”
And, then it’s the night before kindergarten and you find your eyes swelling with tears thinking, “I hope she gets scared tonight, so we can snuggle; those all-nighters at the beginning weren’t really so bad, they were very short-lived considering; cleaning up that accident could have been worse (ok, maybe not that sentimental); she has the most fun personality; I love watching her play dress-up, read books, play with her brother and sister, do her artwork, help me in the kitchen, tell me stories…”
It’s my kids growing up. It’s fun and exciting. It’s scary and unpredictable (which any control-freak like me can’t stand)! Some days are extremely slow and others fly by. But, it is fun and sanctifying. I’m so thankful the Lord has blessed me with 3 children to do this with (and a wonderful to husband whose in it with me)! And, because the Lord is the one who gave them to me and He is the one in control, I know this growing up “thing” will be good. My eyes are swollen with tears, but they aren’t just sad tears, they are happy tears and even excited tears.
If this is kindergarten, I can’t imagine the thoughts when college comes around.

So confident and ready!

Getting Settled
I've tried typing out the last 3 weeks, but it never sounded quite like the experience itself. So, here are some pictures. Some are from Pappy's camera.
On our way to Greenville, we were in completely stand still traffic for over an hour and the kids got out of the car to walk around for a bit. This was a random man that Luke confidently introduced himself to and had a conversation with him. The whole situation could have been stressful, but the kids did great. And thankfully I had my mom with me. There was much laughter in that hour.
We quickly unpacked Laci's "artwork" things so she could play with it.
Luke got an early birthday present from his Texas grandparents. Any guesses what the present was???
Already had the stomach virus. we can check that off our list!
I'll be back with first day of school and birthday pictures soon!!!
